The GOC has recently appointed Richard Greenwood and Kalpana Theophilus to the Investigation Committee. The two Optometrists joined the IC at the start of December.
Mr. Greenwood is a very experienced Optometrist and is currently managing a large team of Optometrists, as well as that he has helped many pre-reg Optometrists get their foot on the ladder. His achievements don’t stop there, Mr. Greenwood was also named Boots Optician of the year in 2013.
Miss Theophilus has almost 30 years experience as an Optometrist working in Laser Clinics and High Street Opticians. Similar to Richard, Kalpana is also involved with pre-reg Optometrists but she is a supervisor, OSCE examiner and a assessor for the pre-reg programme. Not only is Miss Theophilus a successful Optometrist, she recently completed her degree in Law and is focusing her attention on Employment Law and Medical Litigation.
GOC Chairman, Gareth Hadley said: “Investigation Committee plays a vital role in enabling us to uphold confidence in the profession and protect the public. Doing this relies on us appointing high calibre members such as Richard and Kalpana; I’m very confident that they are two excellent appointees.”
